Our hope is that their stories will inspire you and might even give you some ideas of your own. Kathy’s story is remarkable and she kindly shares with us her insight into the industry.
Q: How’s business going for you? A: Business has been absolutely great for me. I got my real estate license in 2007, but I’ve been around real estate my whole life. My dad is a contractor and actually built the home I grew up in. I also have friends and other family members who are architects, developers, home stagers, and in the building products industry. So getting into real estate was a natural choice for me. I’ve been able to truly excel in this industry in such a short time because of the support of my network of friends, family, and my truly amazing broker, Robert J. Vanston, CRB. I owe a lot of thanks to these incredible people.
Q: What are you doing to find business in this market? A: My website has been absolutely instrumental to my business and finding new clients. I’ve put the tools in place with my website and presentation and I work to keep them current. I’ve found that business keeps coming! I check my inbox and there always seems to be a few leads from my website to follow up on. And it’s growing from there. And when I do follow up with a lead, I make sure that I’m not just their first call, but that I’m their only call. That happens by putting them first, showing them the first-rate service I can provide, and by finding out what their needs are. I also find business by not only letting business come to me, but by going after it. I go after expired listings, FSBOs, and approach everyone coming to an open house with the thought that those people aren’t just coming to check out a house, but also to check out a REALTOR for their future home buying/selling needs. This approach has been extremely successful for me. By building, maintaining, and fostering relationships, you are guaranteed that business will keep coming.
